The Israel Police and the Shin Bet reported today (Monday) that they have arrested an Israeli citizen suspected of carrying out multiple cases of espionage, vandalism, and propaganda for Iran in exchange for money.

Alexander Granovksy, a 29 year old from Petah Tikvah, reportedly agreed to carry out a large number of actions which he knew would harm national security for Iran in exchange for money.

Among his actions were the burning of eight vehicles on various occasions while spray-painting "the children of Ruhollah," in reference to the first ruler of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khomenei, on the vehicles.

Grnovsky also photographed Israeli infrastructure in the center of the country, photographed the entrance to the neighborhood of former Defense Minister Benny Gantz, provided information on another citizen to possibly be recruited by Iran, and more.

Granovksy's handlers also discussed his acquiring a rifle and grenades to fire at homes and collect information on the addresses of government ministers, but he refused these assignments.

He will now be charged in the coming days, the latest in at least 13 published cases of Israeli citizens being turned into agents of Iran for money.
