The weapon accident at Bahalatz. An initial investigation of the incident in which 10 IDF soldiers were injured at the Combat Engineering Corps training base (at Bahalatz) reveals that a lesson on Hezbollah ammunition was conducted using live ammunition. This is according to a report by Doron Kadosh.

The incident occurred yesterday at 20:47, during a training session in one of the classrooms of the training base. The topic of the training was "Familiarization with Enemy Ammunition." During the training, an RPG rocket was fired from inside the classroom – towards the door, at close range. The rocket exploded outside the classroom, injuring the soldiers and damaging the building.

All the injured were evacuated in full consciousness to the hospital, after initial treatment by the medical teams at the base. The base commander jumped to the scene and took command of the event. Simultaneously with the command investigation, an MP team arrived at the scene and began an initial investigation of the incident.

The rocket was taken from Hezbollah during the war. Just a few days ago, after a display of Hezbollah's weaponry at the Amiad base in the north, a civilian employee of the IDF who was involved in storing ammunition was injured due to an explosion of weapons from the display.

In the incident, three IDF soldiers were moderately injured and seven IDF soldiers were lightly injured. They were evacuated to the hospital that evening, and their families were informed. The investigation is still ongoing.
