As tensions along Israel’s northern border continue, the Home Front Command is ramping up efforts to fortify communities and restore residents’ confidence in their safety. Major General Rafi Milo, commander of the Home Front Command, stressed that ensuring a strong sense of security for northern residents is not just a goal - it’s an obligation.

Over the past year, significant security measures have been implemented to protect towns near the conflict line. Around 1,300 armored guard booths have been installed, and approximately 3,700 safes have been distributed to emergency response squads. Security perimeters have been reinforced with new fences, and patrol roads have been paved to enhance protection efforts.

On Sunday, General Milo visited several evacuated northern towns, including Kiryat Shmona, Misgav Am, Manara, Kfar Giladi, and Kfar Yovel, to oversee security upgrades. A primary focus of these improvements has been strengthening protection for schools and educational institutions, ensuring that when families return, children will be able to study in a secure environment.

The Home Front Command is working closely with the Ministry of Defense, the Settlement Unit, and the Northern Horizon Administration to implement these defense measures. In addition to physical fortifications, military officials have been engaging in direct dialogue with residents to address concerns, provide updates, and reinforce the close cooperation between security forces and local communities.

Milo emphasized that residents must feel completely safe before returning to their homes, underscoring the military’s commitment to doing everything necessary to bolster security and create the conditions for their homecoming. With these efforts underway, the Israeli government and military are working to ensure that safety is not just a promise but a reality for the people of the north.
