8 Israeli soldiers were wounded in a shooting attack near the village of Tayasir in the Jordan valley, two very seriously. The terrorist was eliminated.

Eight Israeli soldiers were injured, two of them very seriously, in a terrorist attack near the village of Tayasir in the Jordan Valley a short time ago today (Tuesday).
The IDF reported that a shooting attack took place near the village of Tayasir, in the Jordan Valley near Jenin, earlier today, and that "the details are being examined."
Army Radio reporter Doron Kadosh said that some of the wounded have been evacuated to the hospital via helicopter.
He also reported that that eight soldiers were wounded in all: 2 critically, 2 moderately to lightly, and 4 lightly.
According to the IDF Spokesperson, a terrorist fired on an IDF position in Tayasir. The soldiers exchanged fire with the terrorist and eliminated him.
Maariv military reporter Avi Ashkenazi said that "less than an hour ago, a terrorist reached a group of Israelis on road 5799, not far from (the city of) Tubas) and opened fire on them - a military force on site identified the terrorist, engaged in a firefight with him which went on for a few minutes, at the end of which the terrorist was eliminated."
The Yesha Council released this statement following the attack:
"In this difficult hour, we seek to strengthen the IDF soldiers and their commanders.
The tenacious fighting of our heroic warriors keeps the cursed terrorists away from the homes of Israeli citizens and prevents scenes similar to October 7th from happening in Afula and Netanya, God forbid.
This morning's attack proves again that Arab terrorism seeks to harm the State of Israel and IDF soldiers.
The Israeli government has a duty to defeat Arab terrorism and declare Israeli sovereignty that will prevent the establishment of a terrorist state in the heart of the land."
According to i24 reporter Inon Yttach, this is the breakdown of the attack:
"The terrorist arrived at the Teysir checkpoint around 06:00 and opened fire toward the soldiers stationed at the location. The force returned fire and an exchange of fire ensued - while additional fighters were reinforced to the scene. After long minutes - the terrorist was neutralized.
"A medical team that rushed to the scene following the shooting incident report had to wait until the exchange of fire ended, as there was suspicion that the terrorist had fortified himself in one of the locations in the area.
"At least 7 people were wounded in the incident, including two in critical condition. Two helicopters were dispatched to evacuate the casualties due to the complex geographical area - in the heart of the five-village region. Meanwhile: forces are operating in two of them - Tamon and Al-Faraa (as part of "Iron Wall").
Rambam Hospital reports that they admitted two wounded from the attack. They are currently in the shock room and undergoing tests. Updates on their condition will be provided later.
Hamas released a statement saying that "we congratulate the heroic and quality shooting operation committed by the Palestinian resistance fighter which attacked the Tayasir military checkpoint east of Toubas.
"We confirm that the crimes of the occupation and its aggression against the northern occupied West Bank will not remain unpunished."
Amit Segal reports that the terrorist managed to infiltrate an IDF outpost and was wearing a military vest when exchanging fire with the terrorist.
A drone was launched which followed the terrorist but did not fire on him - according to another reporter due to the fear of hitting IDF soldiers - and he was ultimately eliminated by the soldiers on the ground.
This is a developing story.
