While Israel continues to be accused of deliberately trying to starve Gaza, the United Nations' own statistics shows the IDF is letting in plenty of food - but most of it still gets stolen.
The number of aid trucks being looted or hijacked by "armed groups" - including criminal gangs and terrorist groups such as Hamas - increased in the last few days, according to an update by the United Nations itself today (Sunday).
Per the data, 88.7% of aid trucks were "intercepted" by looters or armed groups between May 19 and August 4, with the number increasing to 88.89% by August 10, according to OSINT reporter Eitan Fischberger:
A similar breakdown, this one until the end of July, shows that just 6.5% of the over 1,000 trucks allowed in by the IDF have reached international aid distribution points, according to the Daily Wire:
During his press conference to the foreign media, Prime Minister Netanyahu stressed how most of the aid allowed into the Gaza Strip is stolen and looted, despite IDF efforts including airdrops and efforts to coordinate delivery with the United Nations. He also conceded that although partially successful, the Gaza Humanitarian Fund has not entirely succeeded as an alternative to the existing international aid distribution system, which is itself now failing due to all the "interceptions."
Netanyahu said that "So now, we are going to go around this obstacle, we are going around it, by doing these three things:
1. Designating safe corridors for humanitarian aid distribution – (that's showing the problem. Not showing the solution, but here it is). First, designating rather safe corridors for aid distribution. You can go, you can drive trucks there, and you'll be safe.
2. Increasing the number of safe distribution points managed by the Gazan Humanitarian Fund.
3. Air drops. That's air drops done by the Israeli Air Force and we're inviting others to join us.
"The result has been a humanitarian surge, which we are coordinating with President Trump and his team, and hundreds of trucks have gone in, in recent days. This is preventing hunger. But it's not prevented the global campaign of lies that we have all witnessed.
"So in Gaza, despite Hamas’s obstacles, two million people are now getting access to humanitarian aid."
