The Central Elections Committee is publishing turnout figures throughout the day, and this year's numbers are running unusually high compared to previous elections. Inside Likud, that has set off alarm bells: high turnout suggests slim odds that Ofer Winter's party will cross the electoral threshold.
According to a report by Anna Barsky in Maariv, a senior Likud source said, "If we haven't managed by now to get the right-wing public to want to come out and vote, even the last-minute alarm will only help partially." He added, "It looks like this time the public is hearing our alarm and remembering the boy who cried wolf. Meanwhile, there isn't a single encouraging sign."
