Fresh data released by the Central Elections Committee in recent hours points to the possibility that right-wing turnout will close the gap and reach historical voting levels.
According to preliminary analyses of the newly published figures, a shift in the trend may be emerging, with the right catching up to the left after trailing for much of the day.
Turnout in solidly Likud cities, which had lagged below expectations through the morning hours, now shows signs of recovery and is expected to close at least part of the gap opened by the morning voting blitz in left-wing areas.
