Raging Fire Envelops Spinka Rebbe's Building in Bnei Brak, Sending Mothers and Infants to Hospital
Five fire crews and dozens of medics responded to a major residential building fire in Bnei Brak, rescuing six trapped residents, including two young babies.

A heavy fire broke out early Sunday afternoon in a residential building on Gani Gad Street in Bnei Brak, a structure that houses the residence of the Spinka Rebbe of Gani Gad.
The fire, which originated from one of the central points in the building, spread rapidly and generated heavy, dense smoke that enveloped the apartments, trapping residents inside. Five fire and rescue crews from the Dan District were rushed to the scene alongside dozens of emergency medical technicians and paramedics.
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and rising flames. They immediately launched an emergency rescue operation while working to contain the source of the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent apartments. Crews deployed ladders to windows and balconies to reach trapped and panicked occupants.
Visuals from the scene captured the building heavily cloaked in thick smoke, with a firefighter ascending a red ladder at the front of the structure to reach through window bars and extract a trapped resident from the first floor. Dozens of volunteers from United Hatzalah and Hatzalah assisted at the ground level, directing incoming emergency units and preparing to treat casualties.
A total of six residents were safely extricated from the burning building. Medical teams from Hatzalah and United Hatzalah, working alongside Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics, provided immediate life-saving first aid to five individuals, all of whom were listed in light condition.
Among the casualties were two young mothers, aged 30 and 25, who suffered from smoke inhalation along with their two-month-old infants. Additionally, a 57-year-old man was treated for upper-body injuries sustained when he slipped and fell during the panic at the scene.
Hatzalah emergency responders Meir Azulay and Yosef Zionov, who were among the first to arrive, described the rescue: "When we arrived with MDA ambulances, we saw an active fire in a residential building with several trapped individuals. Following searches and extractions by the firefighters, we provided initial medical treatment to two women, aged 30 and 25, and their two-month-old babies who suffered from smoke inhalation. They were evacuated in light condition to Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital in the city. We also treated a 57-year-old man with upper-body injuries from a slip and fall at the scene, who was evacuated in light condition to Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer."
All victims were transported to Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak and Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv while fully conscious. After battling the flames, firefighters gained full control of the blaze and ventilated the building to clear the trapped smoke. Fire investigators have arrived at the scene to determine the exact cause of the fire.
