An Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in western Gaza City killed two Hamas operatives per the Israeli military.
The strike hit a vehicle in the Tel al-Hawa neighbourhood, leaving it badly mangled. The IDF named the two men killed as Hassan Ali Abu Nada and Abd al-Rahim Ahmad Khalil Khawa, and said they were Hamas engineers involved in weapons production who had acted to advance attacks and rebuild the organisation. The military said the pair worked in the engineering unit of Hamas's military wing and described their activity as a systematic violation of the October 2025 ceasefire.
Medical staff told Reuters the explosion made identification difficult, and appealed for information to establish who they were.
The strike follows a series of Israeli attacks in Gaza in recent days targeting operatives the IDF says were preparing attacks or rebuilding Hamas in breach of the ceasefire. One strike on Thursday killed Muhammad Abdul Salam al-Yazouri, commander of Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade, and another the same day killed Moamen Jabr Al-Sayed Abu Labda, identified by the IDF as the commander of a sniper cell in the Rafah Brigade.
