The Tel Aviv District Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by VERSO against Israeli singer Omer Adam's company, bringing an end to more than six years of litigation between the parties. Judge Gershon Gontovnik ordered VERSO and David Amar to pay Adam's company damages totaling 866,000 shekels.
In addition to rejecting the original claim, the court ruled in favor of a counter-suit filed by Opticana, which markets the Cattleya eyewear brand associated with Omer Adam. According to the ruling, Opticana will receive 800,000 shekels plus interest.
The case centered on VERSO's lawsuit against Adam's company. The court rejected that claim while simultaneously accepting Opticana's counter-suit. Opticana was represented in the proceedings by the law firm M. Firon & Co.
A representative from the Cattleya eyewear brand responded to the decision: "This verdict underscores our commitment to credibility, quality, and fashion. We knew justice would be done, and we welcome the judge's decision."
The ruling is a significant achievement for Omer Adam's company and Opticana in the dispute surrounding the Cattleya eyewear brand.
