The IDF announced that due to the operational security situation and in accordance with situational assessments, hikers will have limited access to some training areas (firing zones) in southern Israel during the Tishrei holidays.
Entry to permitted areas will require coordination three days in advance, the military said.
The IDF is asking the public not to enter restricted areas and to allow security forces to continue carrying out their missions.
The military emphasized that training exercises take place in firing zones at all times: Any entry to a military area requires advance coordination and approval. Entering a military area without prior coordination and approval endangers hikers' safety.
Hikers who encounter unexploded ordnance, ammunition or suspicious objects are asked to distance themselves immediately and report to Southern Command at the phone number provided.
