A one-year-old girl sustained moderate injuries at her home on Malachi Street in Bnei Brak after a heavy object struck her during preparations to build a sukkah.
United Hatzalah emergency medical teams from the Central District arrived quickly at the scene and provided initial medical treatment to the toddler.
United Hatzalah medics Binyamin Fishel, Moshe Miller, and Moishi Kroyzer reported: "According to her family, a wooden panel fell on her head from a height of approximately 2.5 meters during sukkah construction. We provided medical treatment at the scene, and she was then evacuated in a United Hatzalah ambulance to the trauma unit at Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikva with her condition defined as moderate."
Following the unfortunate incident, United Hatzalah is calling on the public to observe proper safety and caution protocols when erecting sukkot and preparing for the holiday, in order to prevent unnecessary tragedies.
Additional details indicate that the family is haredi, and that the wooden panel fell on the toddler from the attic area inside the home while boards were being lowered in preparation for the holiday.
