i24 presenter Eliraz Shadeh offered a dramatic forecast about the upcoming elections, predicting that Yashar! party chairman Gadi Eisenkot will ultimately join a Netanyahu-led government. "Eisenkot will go under Netanyahu if he doesn't have 61, and will demand a government without the haredim," Shadeh said.
The prediction stands in stark contrast to Eisenkot's repeated public statements that he refuses to sit with Netanyahu and that the prime minister should go home.
In an interview on 103FM, Eisenkot sharply criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu. "This is a choice between a political false charm and people who offer a different policy with integrity and honesty. He's the man who said 'Yashar is a bluff,' and he believes it. He sees integrity as weakness, manipulation as a survival tool, and he's doing it in this election campaign too," he said.
Eisenkot also attacked the conduct of the prime minister's family. "Netanyahu's success is Israel's disaster. This is a person who lies at every turn. He unfortunately succeeds in entrenching the betrayal theory. It's clear there was deep negligence; there was no betrayal."
"He and his family cultivate the betrayal theory, he undermines the basic trust between the citizen and state institutions," Eisenkot added. Regarding the start of the war following the October 7 massacre, Eisenkot claimed: "It took me nine days to convince the cabinet and him to include bringing back the hostages into the war objectives."
