Former Shin Bet Field Agent Joins Liberman: Shin Bet Also Owes Answers on October 7

Dvir Kariv, a former field operative in the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and educator who recently joined Avigdor Liberman's Yisrael Beiteinu party, spoke to the Knesset Channel about the heavy price his students have paid since the war began and the accountability required from both the political leadership and the security establishment.

"I am a teacher in Israel, and I have lost seven students since October 7. The families deserve answers," Kariv said during the interview, describing the painful reality from both a personal and educational perspective.

Kariv, who served for decades in the Shin Bet before turning to education after his discharge, addressed the intelligence and political failures surrounding the October 7 attacks and the need for a comprehensive investigation at every level. "We need to give answers about the Shin Bet's part, but also about the part of the elected officials," he said.

The former operative's call for accountability comes as public pressure mounts for a state commission of inquiry into the events leading up to the October 7 massacre, in which Hamas terrorists infiltrated southern Israel and killed over 1,200 people, most of them civilians. The attack exposed what many have described as catastrophic failures in both intelligence gathering and political decision-making.
