Ahead of the October 7th memorial day, Kan 11 will air tonight (Tuesday) a special episode of the program "Tabu" with Chanoch Daum - "Hostage Survivors."

In the episode, Daum hosts four former hostages for an open, painful and darkly humorous conversation: Aviva Siegel, Doron Katz-Asher, Eitan Mor and Guy Galboa-Dalal. The participants go on a joint retreat to Kerem Maharal, where they speak with extraordinary openness about surviving impossible conditions, constant fear, the ways they held onto hope, and the complex gap between the day of liberation and the process of rehabilitation and life after.

In a preview clip released from the program, hostage survivor Eitan Mor reconstructs nerve-wracking moments of real mortal danger during his time in captivity.

"I was close to death, really so many times," Mor tells Daum in the conversation. "On day 21 of the war, around nine in the evening, there was suddenly an earthquake. The ceiling starts falling on us, and the whole house is dust that starts flying toward us. My heart suddenly goes to 200, and I don't understand what's happening."

Mor describes how he later discovered the source of the destruction: "It turns out a plane dropped some bomb on the building next to us, just crushed it like a pita... Because the missile was so close we didn't even hear the explosion, because you get the whole shockwave in your face. All our hands were shaking, you can't control it."
