Rav Elyakim Levanon spoke Thursday on Kan Moreshet with Yossi Ben Attar and addressed the meeting between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Religious Zionism chairman Betzalel Smotrich with religious-Zionist rabbanim. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir was not invited to the meeting.
Rav Levanon said the meeting was Netanyahu's initiative. "People from his office invited the rabbanim, and they asked to bring Smotrich in," he said. On Ben Gvir's absence, he added: "If they had asked me, I would have said to invite him. Smotrich represents Religious Zionism more, but Ben Gvir also deserves to be at a meeting like this."
He then turned to Ofer Winter, head of the Amcha Yisrael party, and said: "He is still a rookie and has made several mistakes. Any party that doubts whether it will pass the threshold needs to get off the stage."
