i24 host Eliraz Sadeh said this week that former IDF chiefs of staff could have defeated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the election two weeks from now, but only if they had positioned themselves to his right.
"If the former chiefs of staff had come from the right, they would have succeeded in beating Netanyahu," he said, repeating an argument he has made throughout the campaign.
He has insisted that the only way to defeat Netanyahu is to outflank him from the right, because the public has moved right, especially after October 7, and only parties with a strong right-wing platform can win against him.
Several days ago, Shadeh said: "If Bennett or Eisenkot were more decisive than Netanyahu on conquest, expulsion and settlement, they could beat Netanyahu. You don't beat Netanyahu from the left."
He added: "The left can only beat Netanyahu from the right. Look at Ben-Gvir and Smotrich."
