Following the suspect's arrest, Central Unit detectives raided his home in Umm al-Fahm and conducted extensive searches. The search yielded sensitive digital materials and evidence that confirmed his unqualified support for ISIS and his direct involvement in planning the Jerusalem attack.
With the conclusion of the complex investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed in court, and a severe indictment on terror and security charges is expected to be filed against him in the coming days.
The arrest is the latest in a series of thwarted plots by security forces in recent weeks. Days ago, an indictment was filed against a pharmacy student who planned attacks using lethal poisons and explosives. The suspect, 22-year-old Muhammad Shalabi from Beit Hanina, copied into a notebook recipes for preparing poisons capable of causing death through contact, inhalation, or ingestion.
In addition, a resident of al-Eizariya in his twenties was arrested while masked and carrying a knife and a glass cup filled with nails, allegedly intending to carry out an attack. The suspect expressed his intention to carry out an attack in the immediate term.
Extensive terror activity has also been uncovered in the Negev. The Shin Bet released dramatic figures showing that since the start of 2026, 72 residents have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in activity endangering state security. Sixty-seven of those arrested are Israeli citizens holding blue identity cards, and indictments have already been filed against approximately 50 of them. Among the cases uncovered was a cell operating in Segev Shalom whose members sought to establish a "military battalion" in the town, inspired by Palestinian battalions in Judea and Samaria.
