Tensions escalated sharply Monday as Iran launched a renewed wave of ballistic missiles at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa. One missile struck dangerously close to the U.S. Embassy branch in Tel Aviv, causing structural damage but, miraculously, no injuries to American personnel.

Air-raid sirens blared across central Israel as explosions rocked major urban areas. Near the embassy, the blast shattered windows and scattered debris across the grounds. U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee confirmed that staff took shelter immediately and, though the building absorbed damage from the concussive force, all personnel remained safe.

In the wake of the attack, the embassy temporarily suspended operations to ensure the safety of its staff and to evaluate the extent of the damage. The closure came as Iranian missiles wreaked havoc elsewhere, killing 8 people and injuring more than 100. Infrastructure took a direct hit, including a critical power facility near Haifa.

The White House urged restraint. The Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump called for immediate de-escalation while reaffirming U.S. diplomatic and strategic support for Israel.
