Adam Ramey, the lead vocalist and co-founder of the rap-metal band Dropout Kings, has died by suicide following a long struggle with addiction. He was 31 years old and just five days away from his 32nd birthday.

According to a GoFundMe page launched by his sister-in-law, Jamie Varner, Ramey “brought life and energy to every room, every family gathering, and every stage he stepped on,” and had a profound impact on those who knew him. “He saved my life during one of my darkest times and always showed up for the people he loved,” she wrote.

Funds raised will go toward funeral and memorial costs, support for Ramey's widow, Jamie, and a college fund for their 18-month-old son, Jude. As of Wednesday morning, the campaign had raised over $40,000 of its $60,000 goal.

Dropout Kings, founded in Phoenix in 2016, described its sound as a modern evolution of rap-rock, drawing inspiration from bands like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. Their tracks, including “Unholy,” “Glitch Gang,” and “I Ain’t Depressed”, have racked up millions of plays across streaming platforms.
