The IDF is preparing for several more days of fighting against Iran, but warns that the current campaign could develop beyond that depending on events on the ground.

Military officials said Monday that the confrontation with Iran is taking place alongside the ongoing front in Lebanon, as Israel continues Operation Lion’s Roar.

According to the IDF, the central issue is Iran’s attempt to drag out time ahead of a possible agreement with the United States. Military officials also said there are internal disagreements inside the Iranian regime.

Overnight and during the morning, the IDF struck nine Iranian air defense systems and three targets connected to petrochemical factories. American defense systems also took part in protecting Israeli airspace during the Iranian launches.

A military source said there is full coordination with the United States, and that IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir is in direct contact with the commander of US CENTCOM. At the same time, the source stressed that the Israeli strike operation itself is being carried out by Israel.

Since Sunday evening, Iran has launched 22 to 24 ballistic missiles toward Israel, according to the IDF. Two additional missiles were launched from Yemen, one of which was intercepted while the other fell before reaching Israeli territory.

The IDF has so far carried out two waves of strikes in Iran.

Regarding Iran’s attempt to create new equations linking Israeli actions in Beirut to attacks on Israel, the IDF rejected the idea outright.

“We have no equations,” military officials said. “The Iranians are trying to limit us with equations, but we will not allow them to create a new reality in the Middle East.”

The IDF says it is prepared for several days of continued fighting, but that the campaign could last longer if the security situation requires it.
