Beyond the Middle East: CIA Chief Reveals Iran’s Secret Plan to Bomb America
CIA Director John Ratcliffe has warned Congress that without the current military campaign, the Iranian regime would soon be capable of striking the United States mainland with missiles.

In a sobering testimony before Congress, CIA Director John Ratcliffe has provided the most urgent justification yet for the ongoing "Great Wrath" military operation against Iran. Ratcliffe warned lawmakers that if the Iranian regime's missile production capabilities were not being systematically destroyed right now, they would have successfully developed the technology to hit the continental United States. The Director emphasized that the current air campaign is a "critical" component of American national security, aimed at preventing a hostile regime from gaining the ability to threaten American cities from thousands of miles away.
Neutralizing the ICBM Threat
The core of the U.S. intelligence concern lies in Iran’s rapidly advancing space and satellite programs, which are often used as cover for developing Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). "If they were not attacked, yes, they could have reached the mainland territory of the United States with missiles," Ratcliffe stated during his testimony. He noted that the precision strikes carried out by the coalition have targeted key manufacturing plants, research labs, and fuel storage sites that were essential to this long-range capability. By destroying these assets now, the U.S. is aiming to reset Iran’s missile clock by several years, if not decades.
A Danger That Remains
Despite the successes of the air campaign, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard warned that the danger is not yet over. In her own testimony, she noted that the Iranian regime, while significantly damaged, still exists and is dangerous. Gabbard cautioned that if the regime survives this war, its primary goal will be a "long-term effort to rebuild its missile and drone arrays." She stressed that the regime's proxies also remain capable of attacking American interests and allies in the region. The consensus among the U.S. intelligence community is that while the current "Great Wrath" operation has crippled Tehran’s immediate offensive plans, only the total dismantling of its strategic capabilities will ensure long-term safety for the American homeland.
