The storm surrounding the documentary NAZA by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor continues to intensify. Singer and artist Aviv Geffen launched a sharp attack on social media Wednesday against Israeli filmmaker and journalist Yuval Abraham.
In a story posted to his Instagram account, Geffen addressed the heavy price paid by civilians and soldiers since the events of October 7th, presenting a pointed stance against the criticism leveled at Israel's security establishment that has been echoing at prestigious festivals worldwide.
"I sang over the graves of entire families who were slaughtered, and soldiers who died because they maintained purity of arms," Geffen wrote sharply. "They will never get to applaud Yuval Abraham's film. They were found with their hands tied," Geffen published in his story.
Geffen's statement joins a chain of reactions and widespread public uproar in Israel surrounding the film that won at the Venice Film Festival.
Geffen, once considered one of Israel's most prominent protest voices, has in recent years and particularly since the outbreak of the war supported the fighters and bereaved families, appearing constantly at bases, funerals and memorial days.
