Israel Stopped Iran Strikes After Trump's Request - But Lebanon Is Another Story.
A senior Israeli official confirms Israel halted Iran strikes at Trump's request and believes the current round is over — but vows full-force strikes in Lebanon will continue, with Dahieh back on the table.

Israel has halted its strikes on Iran at the request of President Trump, a senior Israeli official said Monday afternoon, with assessments in Jerusalem indicating that the current round of fighting with Tehran has come to an end.
The official, cited by Channel 12's Yaron Abraham, said that despite the ceasefire with Iran, strikes in southern Lebanon will continue "at full force" in the coming days. "We will also bomb Dahieh if attacks on our communities and civilians continue," the official added.
Journalist Amit Segal separately cited a senior Israeli source saying "the feeling in the consultations was that this round is behind us."
Iran earlier declared a halt to its missile launches toward Israel, while warning that if attacks continue, including in southern Lebanon, it would respond with "more powerful" measures. Shortly after Iran's announcement, however, Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon were reported and sirens were activated in Kiryat Shmona and surrounding areas. Iran has not responded militarily to those strikes.
The IDF confirmed that none of the launches from Lebanon crossed into Israeli territory. "Three launches were identified fired from Lebanon toward IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon," the military said in a statement. "Some of the launches were intercepted before crossing into Israeli territory and one additional launch landed near the forces. No casualties. Alerts were activated according to policy."
Meanwhile, an i24NEWS correspondent cited an Israeli official saying the next major battle with Washington will be over separating the track of Iran's negotiations with the United States from the parallel situation with Hezbollah in Lebanon, a diplomatic effort Israel sees as critical to preserving its freedom of action on the northern front.
