Why'd he have to go and do that?
Why Joe Rogan is acting like a 3 year old
When you choose to stoop so low as to mock a guest on your show, it's time to put down your mic.

Joe Rogan used to be the guy you’d turn to for real, unfiltered conversations. He could sit down with anyone, from scientists to rebels, and dig into ideas with a mix of curiosity and guts that felt fresh and honest. But after his recent interview with Dave Smith and Douglas Murray, he’s shown a side that’s not just disappointing, it’s downright infuriating. Instead of admitting that the interview had gotten away from him, in a big way, Rogan turned into a petty, immature version of himself.
After the interview, he filmed himself mocking Murray’s accent and words like a kid picking a fight on the playground.
What happened to the guy we thought had something real to offer?
The interview had all the makings of a great discussion. Smith brought his fiery libertarian perspective. Murray, with his clear, polished arguments, spoke with a conviction that commands attention. Together, they set the stage for the kind of deep, challenging talk Rogan’s show is supposed to be about. But Rogan didn’t step up. He flopped. When he couldn’t keep pace, he didn’t try to wrestle with the ideas or ask better questions.
This isn’t just about Rogan having a bad day. It’s about him betraying the trust of everyone who listens to him. His whole deal is built on being the guy who’ll grapple with tough topics and let his guests shine, no matter how much he agrees or disagrees.
But when Murray brought his A game, Rogan didn’t just stumble, he went low. Mocking someone’s accent? Sneering at how they phrase things? That’s the kind of nonsense you expect from a three year old, not a 57 year old with a massive platform. It’s embarrassing, and it’s a slap in the face to his audience.
What's both pathetic and sad is the double standard. Rogan’s spent years calling out people who shut down debates with petty tactics, like dismissing someone’s ideas because of how they sound. But that’s exactly what he did here. He didn’t argue with Murray’s points or push back with something thoughtful. He just made fun of him, like a bully who can’t handle being outsmarted. That’s not the Rogan who built a following by taking ideas seriously. That’s a guy who’s lost his way.
The worst part is what this means for the show we’ve all rooted for. Rogan’s podcast has been a place where people go to hear raw, open discussions, free from the polished nonsense of mainstream media. But if he’s going to act like this, why bother? Murray doesn’t need Rogan’s approval to make his case, and Smith’s ideas will stand up long after Rogan’s tantrum fades. Rogan, though? He’s hurting his own reputation, one childish outburst at a time.
Rogan had a chance to keep his show as a place where big ideas get hashed out. Instead, he chose to act like a jerk, giggling at someone’s accent instead of doing the work of real conversation.
Come on, Joe. Your listeners deserve better. If you can’t handle a tough discussion, maybe it’s time to let the grown ups take the mic.
