Report: Macron slams Israel again while preparing to meet Syria’s bloodthirsty Jihadi dictator
French president condemns Israel’s actions in Gaza as lawless, just before engaging with Syria’s ISIS/al-Qaeda-linked al-Julani.

French President Emmanuel Macron met Wednesday at the Elysee Palace with Germany's new Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and in a joint statement with the guest, issued a strong condemnation of Israel's policy in Gaza. Macron made it clear that France supports Israel's right to fight terrorism, but strongly criticized the way the fighting in the Gaza Strip is being conducted.
"Our position has been clear from day one," Macron declared. "We stood with Israel on October 7 and condemned the Hamas terror attack. We are working tirelessly for the release of all the hostages, but we cannot afford double standards."
"If we condemn Russia for violating Ukrainian sovereignty, we cannot remain silent when it happens in Gaza. Hamas must be fought, yes, but not at the cost of trampling on all the rules."
Macron warned that "the situation in Gaza is the worst we have known since October 2023. We must not go on like this. Entire populations are cut off from access to food, water, medicine, and medical care. It's just unacceptable."
He added, "The forced displacement of populations is an unacceptable response. We demand the renewal of full humanitarian access to Gaza – this is of the utmost urgency."
At the end of his remarks, Macron stressed that France continues to work to promote a political solution: "All the hostages must be released, Hamas must be demilitarized, and a political process must begin that will enable the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside the State of Israel. Only in this way will we be able to ensure security and peace for all the peoples of the region."
Meanwhile, six European countries – Spain, Ireland, Norway, Slovenia, Iceland and Luxembourg – issued a strong condemnation of Israel's plan to take over the Gaza Strip for a long time. In a statement, the foreign ministers of the countries said that they "oppose any demographic or territorial change," and stressed that as far as they are concerned, this is a "violation of international law." They warned that "further military escalation in Gaza will only worsen the catastrophic situation of the Palestinians and endanger the lives of the hostages who remain in captivity."
