Social media has been left stunned by viral footage of a young man calmly walking into a Mumbai hospital while carrying a lethal "souvenir" lodged deep inside his skull.

The victim, identified as Rohit Pawar, a resident of Mankhurd, was reportedly ambushed late at night near a local poultry shop. According to police reports, the attack followed a previous dispute with a local youth and escalated into an ambush by three minors who assaulted Pawar with kicks, punches, and a large machete.

A Surreal Scene

The force of the attack was so severe that the machete remained embedded four centimeters deep into the left side of Pawar’s skull. Remarkably, he did not lose consciousness.

Witnesses at Sion Hospital were shocked to see Pawar walking through the facility with total composure. Video captured at the scene shows him standing calmly while scrolling through or talking on his mobile phone as he waited for medical attention, seemingly indifferent to the weapon protruding from his head. Onlookers were seen recording the scene on their own devices in disbelief.

Medical professionals have described Pawar's survival as nothing short of a miracle. Dr. Batuk Diyora, head of the Department of Neurosurgery, explained that while the blade penetrated the skin, muscle, bone, and brain tissue, it managed to miss all critical functional areas by mere millimeters.

"The blade missed the vital centers," Dr. Diyora noted, which allowed Pawar to remain fully conscious, speak clearly, and maintain normal motor functions throughout the ordeal.

Condition and Arrests

Following a complex surgical procedure to remove the blade, Pawar’s condition has been stabilized, though he remains under close medical observation.

In response to the attack, Mumbai police have arrested three minors involved in the ambush and transferred them to a juvenile detention center. The case has sparked intense debate online, with many questioning the perceived indifference of the hospital staff and bystanders in the video, while others remain amazed by Pawar's extreme stoicism in the face of a potentially fatal injury.
