The Russian Connection: Zelensky Reveals Moscow’s Secret Intelligence Gift to Iran
President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that Russia is providing Iran with operational intelligence and satellite imagery of Western bases to prolong the war in the Middle East.

In an exclusive interview with N12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has exposed the depth of military cooperation between Russia and Iran, warning that Moscow is actively helping Tehran target American and British assets. According to Zelensky, Russia has provided the Iranian regime with sensitive satellite imagery of U.S. bases and critical infrastructure across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. The Ukrainian leader argued that Russia is highly motivated to see a prolonged, intense war in the Middle East, as it serves to distract the United States from the front lines in Ukraine and could lead to a reduction in Western military aid to Kyiv. Zelensky expressed frustration that Israel continues to attempt a "balancing act" with the Kremlin, despite clear evidence that Moscow is a 100% direct partner in the Iranian war effort.
Strategic Cooperation and the Middle East Shield
Zelensky revealed that during his recent tour of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Jordan, he shared intelligence indicating that the model of information sharing between Russia and Iran is identical to the one used against Ukraine. He noted that recent Iranian drone strikes against short-range targets show clear signs of Russian technical influence. "My feeling is that Netanyahu always tries to balance between Russia and Ukraine, even when it is clear that Russia is helping Iran," Zelensky stated, adding that while he has not had a conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister since January 2025, he remains open to a dialogue. He emphasized that Ukraine possesses unique capabilities in intercepting Iranian drones having faced thousands of them, and is ready to share this expertise with regional partners who are now facing the same threats.
The Ukrainian President suggested that the advice he gave to regional leaders was to find a diplomatic solution as quickly as possible to prevent a long-term drain on resources. He expressed concern that if the war in the Middle East continues to escalate, the United States may eventually pressure Ukraine into making territorial concessions to Russia simply to close one of the global fronts. Zelensky highlighted the absurdity of the current situation, noting that Ukraine has already sent military advisors to Jordan and the Gulf to assist in drone interceptions, yet Israel remains the only Western nation besides Hungary that has not clearly aligned itself with Ukraine. "We have things Israel needs, and Israel has things we need," he concluded, urging a more open exchange to counter the growing Moscow-Tehran axis.
