UK Prince William calls for end to war in Gaza "as soon as possible"

The heir to the British throne expressed his concerns about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip during a visit to the British Red Cross in London, per the BBC.

British Crown Prince William published a statement today (Tuesday), making a rare call for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the immediate release of all the hostages held in the Strip.

He spoke of “terrible human cost of the conflict in the Middle East since the Hamas terrorist attack” and said that there was a need for “desperate need for increased humanitarian support to Gaza” and for all the hostages to be released.”

He ended by saying “Sometimes it is only when faced with the sheer scale of human suffering that the importance of permanent peace is brought home.”
