The Houthis have reportedly escalated their efforts in the Red Sea. After continuing to strike at Israeli, US, and UK-affiliated ships trying to pass through the Bab el-Mandeb-Red Sea-Suez Canal route, Globes reports that they have also damaged at least four undersea cables connecting Europe to Asia.
The four cables were damaged between Saudi Arabia and Djibouti, and belong to the companies of EIG, Seacom, AAE-1, and TGN.
China is also hurt by this attack, as the AAE-1 cable connects China with western countries via states such as Pakistan and Qatar.
