President Donald Trump has a message for Iran’s leaders, and he says he has delivered it to them directly, more than once: “You guys are frickin’ crazy.”
Trump was speaking at a campaign rally in Clarksville, Tennessee, on Saturday night, three and a half weeks before the midterm elections, when he turned to Tehran. He did not hold back.
“They’re a lunatic country. They know that,” he told the crowd. “I tell them that all the time.”
Then came the impression. Trump played the part of an Iranian leader at a podium threatening to kill everyone, and followed it with the crowd behind him answering in chorus. “Praise be to Allah. Praise be to Allah. Praise be to Allah,” he chanted, three times over, to laughter from the audience.
Trump has used the phrase before. It has shown up in his Truth Social posts about Iran since the spring, usually as a sarcastic sign-off after a threat or a boast about the American blockade.
