A massive four-alarm fire broke out this morning in a six-story residential apartment building on Manhattan's Upper West Side, forcing residents into the cold and injuring four people with minor injuries, according to the New York City Fire Department (FDNY)

A major four-alarm fire erupted Monday morning in a six-story residential building at 201 West 107th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, injuring four people and forcing dozens of residents into freezing temperatures.
The FDNY received the first call at approximately 8:20 a.m. Flames broke out on the top floor of the non-fireproof building and quickly spread through the cockloft and roof. Part of the structure collapsed, sending burning debris onto the sidewalk below.
More than 140 firefighters from 40 units responded. The blaze was escalated to a fourth alarm by 9:15 a.m. and brought under control shortly before 11:30 a.m.
Four people sustained minor injuries: three civilians and one firefighter. All were transported to local hospitals in stable condition.
The NYC Office of Emergency Management deployed warming buses to the scene, and the American Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the FDNY Fire Marshals.
Streets in the area were closed for several hours, causing significant traffic delays. No fatalities have been reported.
