Five U.S. Air Force refueling planes were struck and damaged on the ground at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia during an Iranian missile attack in recent days, according to a Wall Street Journal report citing two U.S. officials.

The planes were not completely destroyed and are undergoing repairs, with no fatalities reported from the incident.

This attack adds to the tally of U.S. aircraft affected in the ongoing U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict, bringing the total number of damaged or destroyed refueling planes to at least seven.

President Trump commented on the strike via social media, noting that four of the planes sustained "virtually no" damage and have returned to service, while one had "slightly more damage."

U.S. Central Command has not provided further details on the matter.

The incident follows other recent events, including a collision between two KC-135 refueling planes that resulted in a crash and the loss of six crew members.
