The U.S. Naval command issued a categorical denial overnight to reports circulating in various media outlets claiming that seven sailors were killed in a violent incident aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), and that there had been a sharp increase in suicide attempts among crew members.
"These reports are entirely false," Naval command stated. "No crew members aboard the aircraft carrier have died, and the only sailor who fell overboard on August 3 was quickly and safely rescued."
