Vance: Netanyahu Has 'Certainly Gotten Some Things Wrong' on Iran
In an upcoming CBS interview, JD Vance calls a potential U.S.-Iran deal a "home run for the American people," while acknowledging Israel may not like the outcome.

Vice President JD Vance offered a pointed assessment of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Wednesday, saying the Israeli leader has made mistakes in his approach to the Iran war while stopping short of a full rebuke.
Speaking to CBS News correspondent Robert Costa in an interview airing on "CBS Sunday Morning" this coming Sunday (June 14th at 9am US time) Vance described Netanyahu as a leader who "aggressively asserts the interests of his country" but said President Trump "has been very clear about what is in our best interest."
"Sometimes that means we're on the same page and sometimes it means that we're not," Vance said, adding that "where that diverges, we, unfortunately for the Israelis, have to choose the side of the American people, which we always do."
Asked directly whether Netanyahu had made mistakes in how he approached his relationship with Washington over the Iran war, Vance said he had "certainly gotten some things wrong," but added that Netanyahu has "been a good partner."
He refused to explain what these things were, adding that some things are best left [to be talked about] in private.
The remarks come amid visible friction between Jerusalem and Washington over Israel's conduct during the Iran conflict. The interview aired one day after Vance described a potential U.S.-Iran deal as a "home run for the American people," while acknowledging Israel may not like it.
"Even when we've been close partners, sometimes we have interests that are perfectly aligned and sometimes we have interests that are misaligned," Vance told Costa.
Marco Rubio has become much more popular with Americans during the Iran war, and it's no wonder why. Rubio is straight where JD is just not, not to mention that he clearly has issues with Israel.
