A man carried out a knife attack at Winterthur main train station (Bahnhof Winterthur) this morning, injuring at least three people.

According to Swiss media outlets 20 Minuten and Blick, the incident occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. local time on platform 3. Witnesses reported that the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” while stabbing victims.

The Zurich cantonal police launched a major operation, quickly arresting a 31-year-old Swiss man. Parts of the station, including the underpass, were cordoned off as emergency services treated the wounded.

Police confirmed three people were injured in the attack. One victim was stabbed in the thigh; the severity of the other injuries is still being assessed. No fatalities have been reported.

The motive remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet classified the incident as terrorism, but the reported shouts have prompted widespread speculation.

This is a developing story.
