"She and her Family Gave a Lot"

Moshe Arbel on the legal advisor: Do you know who she is married to?

Minister Moshe Arbel criticizes the way in which the legal reform was promoted, and does not accept the Likud members' attacks on the legal advisor to the government: "She and her family gave a lot for Israel's security"

The Minister of Interior and Health, Moshe Arbel, comes out in defense of the Government Legal Advisor, Gali Baharav-Miara, and says that he does not believe that she does not see the good of the state before her eyes. Arbel also clarified that the ultra-Orthodox public, as a minority, must demand that any change be with broad agreement and consideration for the different sectors.

In an interview with journalist Yishai Cohen on the ultra-Orthodox website Kikar HaShabbat, Arbel said: "If we are a minority in a country that wants to look to the future, we need to understand that changes, no matter how important they are, must be based on agreement, understanding and dialogue. Without this - we will get a pendulum movement. Right after the elections, we will find we ourselves are in the opposition, another government will come and cancel what you have achieved. So what is the goal? To achieve a temporary victory? If we want to make a change - we have to do things by agreement."

Regarding the criticism on the Government Legal Advisor by members of the Likud party, Arbel said: "To dismiss her? Just like that? Absolutely not. She is not an enemy of the people. Do you know who she's married to? She's married to a person who dedicated his life to the security of the state, and today he is ill. And this rhetoric that coalition members of the Knesset label her as the 'enemy of the people' is an ugly and unacceptable discourse. What she has given, and her family has given, has been for the sake of Israel's security. I can work with her, even if we have disagreements. I want to attribute good intentions to those we don't agree with as well."
