Permission granted for publication: The injured victims of this morning's attack at the Maccabim checkpoint are IDF soldiers. The assailant who carried out the attack had a work permit in Israel

Following the severe attack this morning (Thursday) in which one person was killed and others were injured, it is now permitted to publish that the injured victims of the attack in Binyamin are IDF soldiers.

As reported this morning, there was a report of a car-ramming attack in Binyamin, during which a truck struck several civilians. Three people were injured, one of them critically. The condition of the other two injured individuals is defined as severe and light. Later, the critically injured person's death was confirmed.

The assailant who carried out the attack fled in the direction of Hashmonaim crossing. Security personnel from the Crossing Authority of the Ministry of Defense at Hashmonaim crossing acted upon information received from the IDF, identified the assailant, and neutralized him. There are no further casualties. Hashmonaim crossing is closed in both directions.

ZAKA volunteer: "There were a number of injured people at the scene"

Magen David Adom (MDA) reported: "Paramedics and medics from MDA are providing medical treatment and transferring three young individuals, around the age of 20, to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Sheba-Tel Hashomer Medical Center, and Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Medical Center. One is in critical condition with abdominal and head injuries, one is in serious condition with abdominal injuries, and one is in moderate condition with injuries to the legs."

Aryeh Herschler, a volunteer from ZAKA in the Judea and Samaria District, said, "We arrived at the scene of the attack within a few minutes. There were several injured individuals lying on the road, including one severely injured with a head injury. MDA ambulances transferred the injured to the hospital, where the severe injury victim's death was determined."

Gallant: "Wishing a full recovery to the injured from the attack."

Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, held an emergency meeting shortly (Thursday) after the car-ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint in Benjamin this morning, in which one person was killed and three others were injured. Later on, a situation assessment will also take place with senior members of the security establishment.

Minister Gallant addressed the morning attack: "I send my condolences to the family of the victim in this morning's car-ramming attack and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. This was a severe attack, and I highly appreciate the security forces for their determined action that led to the quick neutralization of the assailant."

The leader of the Machane HaMamlachti Party, Member of Knesset Benny Gantz, expressed his sorrow and response to the severe event this morning: "Another difficult morning. Deadly terrorism claims lives again. I join in the grief of the victim's family, wish a speedy recovery to the wounded, and commend the response of the IDF and the security personnel of the Border Police, which led to the neutralization of the terrorist. This morning as well, we will remember – the resilience of Israel is stronger than terror. With determination and responsibility, we will overcome our adversaries."
