A case containing six standard explosive charges was located yesterday (Sunday) by IDF forces from the Bikaa and Aamakim Brigade, in cooperation with the Israel Police. The case is part of the activity to thwart the smuggling of weapons into the territory of the State of Israel

The findings were forwarded to the security forces for further treatment and investigation. The IDF spokesman stated that the IDF and the security forces are working to thwart any attempt to smuggle weapons into the territories of the State of Israel and attempts to harm the citizens of the country.

Yesterday (Monday) the Chief of Staff, Major General Herzi Halevi, spoke at the central IDF rally to mark the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. Halevi referred to the threats against Israel during the discussions and demonstrations on the legal reform: "Israel knows how to put the differences aside and attack."

"Our enemies may be tempted to see an advantage in the multi-faceted threat against us. It is better for them to know that when Israel is threatened, it knows how to mobilize all its resources, put its differences aside - and attack. It was the same in the Yom Kippur War, it will be the same today, if we are required to do so."

"It is impossible not to wonder: can such cohesion only exist given such a great threat? The State of Israel has one IDF that protects it from many enemies. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect it. Because it is the basis of our safe existence here, and because it is our safety that stands above all"
