The prison service announced an emergency situation in the Maasiyahu Prison because the first layer of bars, one out of three, was out of place.
Today (Saturday) in the afternoon, during an inspection of bars in one of the wings of the Maasiyahu Prison, the guards noticed a bar, one of three layers of bars, which had come out of its place in the cell window, with no signs of cutting or displacement.
A state of emergency was declared in the prison, extensive searches were carried out in the other wings of the prison, which did not reveal any unusual findings.
These days the prison is undergoing extensive renovations and the construction workers at the Prison Service will inspect the building along with extracting the involved prisoners from the cell and interrogating them.
