Prosecutors have indicted four Bedouin residents of Segev Shalom and nearby Bedouin communities for allegedly plotting terror attacks on Beersheba's central bus station and the Segev Shalom police station. Arutz Sheva reported that the Southern District Attorney's Office filed the indictment Friday morning with the Beersheba District Court.
The suspects were arrested in May and June 2026, before any of the alleged plots could be carried out. The targets named in the indictment were a central bus station in Beersheba, a police station, and Israeli security forces operating in Segev Shalom.
All four face charges of conspiring to commit an act of terrorism and of training and instruction for terror purposes. The main defendant is also charged with incitement to terrorism and with identifying with a terrorist organization.
Prosecutors say the main defendant used a public Instagram account over a long period to post and share dozens of items glorifying terrorists and terror groups, together with explicit calls for attacks and armed struggle. The content was tied to Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the Lions' Den and other jihadist groups. It also featured videos of the October 7 massacre, tributes to senior Hamas operatives, and appeals for jihad and martyrdom.
The indictment alleges that the main defendant and one other suspect conspired to launch a string of attacks in response to Israeli security operations in Gaza and in Judea and Samaria. Arutz Sheva reported that they first planned a mass stabbing at the Beersheba central bus station, then abandoned it after deciding knives would not achieve their goal, and began planning a shooting attack with firearms. (Amit Segal said that they planned a combined stabbing and shooting assault at the Beersheba central bus station.)
The two also allegedly planned to open fire on the Segev Shalom police station and to attack security forces in the town.
