The IDF struck in the Khan Yunis area of the Gaza Strip earlier this week and eliminated Ibrahim Allam, a commander in the military wing of the Hamas terror organization. The terrorist invaded Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and took part in the murder of numerous Israeli civilians, as well as the abduction of the body of Sgt. Shaked Dahan HY"D into Hamas captivity.
According to the IDF Spokesperson, the strike was carried out on Monday with the aim of removing the threat posed by the terrorist. In recent months, Allam had advanced terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians and worked to restore the capabilities of the Hamas terror organization, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.
Before the strike, steps were taken to minimize harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. IDF forces under Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.
