Mutually Assured Destruction: The Secret Pact of Silence Saving Netanyahu and the Attorney General

While Netanyahu executes brilliant geopolitical moves abroad, a dark deal of mutual silence between the political and legal echelons keeps the real truth about Qatar and the war from the public.

The past week has been characterized by a dangerous yet fascinating mix of far reaching geopolitical moves and internal scandals shaking the Prime Minister's Office and the security establishment.

To understand the full picture, one must draw a line between what is happening in the Mediterranean basin and the Horn of Africa, and the dark interrogation rooms of the Feldstein affair and the Qatari money saga.

The Diplomatic Front: Turkish DNA and the Alliance of Minorities

Before diving into the local swamp, we must look outward at our neighbors. Turkey, with or without Erdogan, is driven by the DNA of nomads. This is an ancient DNA with a distinct expansionist interest. The fact that they held an empire for hundreds of years is no accident. They have industrial capabilities, discipline, and patriotism that should not be underestimated.

Facing this threat, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making praiseworthy moves. The tightening alliance with Greece and Cyprus, including the idea of an underground water pipeline, a logistical network, and joint military exercises, is a winning strategy. Simultaneously, the Israeli recognition of Somaliland is a brilliant implementation of the "Alliance of Minorities" theory. Israel is the only country identifying this potential, a move designed to outflank enemies in the region. When credit is due to Netanyahu, it must be given.

The Internal Front: "Qatar Gate" and the Limits of Investigation

However, while strategic alliances are being forged abroad, a dangerous game of hiding the truth is taking place at home. The interview given by Eli Feldstein to Channel 11 revealed a little but covered up much more. Anyone listening closely understands that Feldstein is not telling the whole truth regarding connections with Qatar. If he is hiding something, the big question arises: what did the Prime Minister know?

My thesis is clear. What began as an investigation into the leak of the Sinwar document rolled into what can be termed "Qatar Gate."

The fromer Chief of Staff and the top brass of the General Staff, who ordered the opening of the investigation, discovered to their horror that the trail leads not only to the Prime Minister's Office. It also leads deep into the Mossad for special operations and to senior figures in the defense and intelligence establishment who were involved with Qatari funds.

The moment the system realized that this investigation was about to take down some of its own people, and not just Netanyahu's men, it hit the brakes. The investigation stopped at the mid level ranks.

The Balance of Terror: Bibi and Gali

Here the real mechanism managing the State of Israel today is revealed: a mutual balance of terror between the political echelon and the legal echelon.

Look at the Military Advocate General affair.

It is clear to any honest observer that the Attorney General was involved up to her neck, briefed, and informed. Yet the investigation stopped at the Military Advocate General and did not climb higher. In exactly the same way, the investigation into the documents and the Qatari money stopped at Feldstein and did not climb to the decision makers in the senior political or security echelon.

The inevitable conclusion is that there is an unwritten alliance. Bibi knows they do not touch Gali, and Gali knows they do not touch Bibi. Anyone who still does not understand this is living in an illusion. The system sacrifices the gatekeepers or the mid level officials to save the heads.

Thus, a situation is created where investigations that begin with a loud trumpet blast end with a whimper. This happens not from a lack of evidence, but from an excess of evidence that threatens to bring down the entire house, on both the Right and the Left. The public is left with half truths, while in closed rooms, the heads of the system and the political leadership watch each other's backs.
