A 17-year-old male student at Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, was arrested on February 2, 2026, after allegedly sending antisemitic death threats via email to over 300 classmates.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m., with the emails originating from a school-issued account under the student's name. The message explicitly stated: "At 2pm we will rise up and kill all the Jews in this school and the city. F**k the Jews."

School administrators reported the threats to the NYPD's 115th Precinct, leading to a swift response and the student's arrest at the school by approximately 3:30 p.m. that day. He was charged with making a terroristic threat and aggravated harassment as a hate crime, and the case is being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.

Authorities confirmed the situation was resolved without incident. The teen's arraignment in Queens Criminal Court is pending.

New York State Senator Jessica Ramos, whose district includes Jackson Heights, condemned the threats as "deeply disturbing and unacceptable," emphasizing that "hate and threats of violence have no place in our schools or anywhere else."

The incident has drawn attention amid a reported 182% rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes in New York City over the past year.

The student's identity has not been publicly released due to his age.
