Conservative Jewish activist Lizzy Benichou told Fox News she will not allow the assault she suffered on the University of Michigan campus to silence her.

She recounted that during an open discussion she was holding on campus Sunday, a woman who arrived at the scene began shouting at participants, struck another conservative activist with her phone, and then lunged at her and knocked her to the ground.

The confrontation developed during a debate about free speech and women's rights in Iran. She told the attacker that in Iran, she would not have been able to dress the way she was dressed, and at that point, Benishu said, the woman charged at her. She described the fall as hard and said she remained in pain afterward.

"This definitely won't intimidate me," she said.

University of Michigan police confirmed that the student was arrested and later released, and that the case will be forwarded to the local prosecutor's office for review.
