Former Australian of the Year Leads “Globalise the Intifada” Chant at Anti-Israel Rally | WATCH
A former national icon openly leading calls to “globalise the intifada” in Australia, weeks after Jews were slaughtered here in a terrorist attack, crosses a dangerous line.

Grace Tame, the 2021 Australian of the Year and prominent sexual abuse survivor advocate, publicly led chants widely condemned as calls for terrorism against Jews during a recent protest in Sydney.
Speaking at a large pro-Palestine rally outside Sydney Town Hall against the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Tame labeled Herzog a “war criminal” and incited the crowd to chant: “From Gadigal to Gaza, globalise the intifada.”
The phrase “globalise the intifada” has been strongly criticized by Jewish organizations, politicians, and security experts as a direct call to export the violent tactics of the Palestinian intifadas, which included suicide bombings, stabbings, and mass murder of civilians, to countries around the world, including Australia.
The timing has shocked many: Herzog was in Australia specifically to honor the 15 victims of the December 2025 Bondi terrorist attack, in which a gunman targeted a Jewish Hanukkah event. The rally descended into chaos with clashes between protesters and police, leading to multiple arrests.
Jewish groups, including the Australian Jewish Association, have demanded that Tame be stripped of her Australian of the Year title, calling her actions “disgraceful.”
Federal and state politicians from both major parties have condemned the chant, highlighting the danger of such rhetoric so soon after a deadly terror attack on Australian soil.
