This morning (Wednesday), it was reported that the Spanish police recently opened an investigation into an arson attempt at "Rimon Pizza," a kosher Israeli restaurant located in the heart of Madrid.

According to a report by Channel 12 News, about two weeks ago, an unidentified man entered the restaurant around 11:00 PM, while the place was full of diners, and sprayed the entrance with a liquid with a strong gasoline smell intending to set it on fire.

The guests immediately understood that it was an arson attempt, and one of them even confronted the suspect who managed to escape the scene. The Jewish community in Madrid condemned the act, defining it as an anti-Semitic action aimed at causing harm and instilling fear among Jews. The police has transferred the investigation to a unit specializing in crimes related to terrorism.

Last month, Spain’s Jewish community was alarmed following reports that Hezbollah operatives, allegedly backed by Iranian influence, have been constructing drones near synagogues and Jewish cultural centers.

The Spanish government seems unable to prevent terror cells from operating and promoting dangerous activity. The arrest of three suspects accused of building drones in central Barcelona has raised concerns about rising terrorist activity and anti-Semitism in Europe.

The arrests took place in the Eixample district, an upscale area in central Barcelona located just a few blocks from the city's main synagogue and the Jewish school.
