Words kill
Netanyahu: Blood libels against Israel fuel violence like the DC attack
Minister Amichai Eliyahu accused opposition MK Yair Golan, who stated that Israel "kills babies as a hobby", of causing that hatred, claiming his words are echoed by antisemites and Israel-haters across the globe.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed this morning (Thursday) the murderous attack in Washington D.C. and blamed the incident on those who incite against the State of Israel, following viscious comments made earlier this week by Israeli officials.
The chairman of the Labor Party, Yair Golan, claimed that Israel 'kills babies as a hobby,' and former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, argued that Israel is close to committing a war crime in the Gaza Strip.
"We are witnessing the terrible price of anti-Semitism and the wild incitement against the State of Israel. The blood libels against Israel cost us in blood, and we must fight them vigorously," Netanyahu said, adding: "My heart aches for the families of the beloved young man and woman, whose lives were suddenly cut short by a despicable anti-Semitic murderer. I have instructed to strengthen the security arrangements at Israeli representations around the world and the protection of state representatives."
Rabbi Amichai Eliyahu, Minister of Heritage, blamed the chairman of the Labor faction Yair Golan this morning (Thursday) for the brutal attack in Washington. According to the minister, "The blood libels of Yair Golan resonate among Nazis and Israel haters around the world, and we are now paying the price for them in the murderous attack in Washington, and history teaches us that we will pay more in the future. Yair, the blood of the embassy workers is on your hands and those of your friends. My sincere condolences to the families of the victims."
Knesset member Tali Gottlieb also called for an immediate criminal investigation against Yair Golan, chairman of the Labor Party and former deputy chief of staff, claiming that he committed a "series of criminal offenses" that harmed the resilience of the state and aided Israel's enemies during wartime.
Gottlieb wrote on X last Tuesday: "From morning until now, the dangerous inciter Yair Golan has not been arrested. The dangerous Golan, who is championed by our greatest enemies, has also not been summoned for questioning. I am not interested in slogans and condemnations. Golan has committed a series of criminal offenses. He has no immunity. He must be arrested, investigated, and charged urgently."
The Prime Minister spoke with Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, and heard an immediate update from him about the details of the event. The Attorney General of the United States, Pam Bondi, spoke with the Prime Minister and detailed everything known at this time about the identity of the killer and the two embassy staff members who were murdered.
Bondi told the Prime Minister that she is deeply sorry, that President Donald Trump is involved in managing the event, and that the United States will ensure that the killer is brought to justice. She asked to extend her condolences to the families of the young couple who were about to get engaged soon. The Prime Minister thanked her and President Trump for their clear stance against the phenomenon of anti-Semitism.
