Moments Before the Election

Mamdani Is Not Just Anti-Israel; He's a Hamas-Lover, Too

Zohran Mamdani, the terror supporter who is likely to be elected tomorrow to be mayor of New York City, is expected to receive support from no small number of Jews as well. If support for him from the "communities" of Reform Jews, many of whose members are not even Jewish, is not surprising, when it comes to Orthodox Jews supporting him, it is particularly infuriating.

Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim politician from the state of New York, has focused a not-insignificant part of his public activity on a staunch position against the State of Israel, and at times against its very existence. Public figures and critics across the political spectrum point to a series of statements and actions that envelop him in the label of a clear anti-Israel candidate.

The accusations against him center on several points: satisfaction with activists and organizations accused of harming Israel, support for struggles and campaigns like BDS, participation and leadership in demonstrations where protesters called to stop what they defined as a "Palestinian genocide," and refusal to unequivocally condemn expressions considered to encourage violence against Israel, such as the phrase "global intifada."

He is also accused of affiliation or connection to organizations that call not only to destroy Israel – but also America itself.

Among the facts accumulating against Mamdani, we will first mention the rap song in which he expressed his love for the five "Holy Land" men who were convicted of providing direct funding to Hamas and supporting the terror organization. Segments of the song are now used as evidence of Mamdani's attitude toward activists convicted of supporting terror organizations.

After the events of October 7, Mamdani refused to condemn Hamas and called "for all sides to lay down their arms." Mamdani also did not hide his support for BDS and campaigns supporting a boycott of Israel. He previously stated that he is an active member of left-wing organizations like the DSA and that he accepted the organization's identification with BDS as a factor that brought him to join and commit to this struggle as a matter of principle.

In October 2023, days after the Simchat Torah massacre, Mamdani was arrested, along with other protesters, while participating in a demonstration in front of Senator Chuck Schumer's home where calls such as "stop the genocide" were demanded.

The phrase that sparked a wave of sharp reactions is his attitude toward the expression "globalize the intifada." Mamdani refused to condemn the use of this phrase, claiming that it simply "expresses solidarity with the Palestinian struggle against the occupation."

After political pressure, it was reported that he would refrain from using the phrase himself and would not encourage it, but this explanation did not convince some opponents who saw it as enlisting in rhetoric that could escalate public discourse. This claim led to preparations on the part of figures in the political center and the business community who debated whether to support him. The meaning of the phrase in English is essentially to import the "intifada" to the U.S. and the entire world.

Beyond public statements, Mamdani demonstrated and appeared alongside people chanting slogans like "There is only one solution: Intifada Revolution" and leading BDS chants at demonstrations.

More from Mamdani: "'When the boot of the New York Police on your neck, remember that this is a direct entanglement of the IDF.'"

"From this day forward, we will stand in solidarity with Palestinians and demand accountability from every person with power in this city, this state, this land, for their inexplicable loyalty to the State of Israel."

Zohran Mamdani also committed to arresting Prime Minister Netanyahu if he comes to the UN General Assembly in New York.

The Muslim candidate also caused a storm after being photographed smiling with his hand clasped in the hand of Imam Siraj Wahhaj, a well-known Muslim figure whose name has been linked in the past to terror and calls for jihad against New York. Wahhaj, 75, was marked by the federal prosecution as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, in which six people were killed.

Despite this, Mamdani praised him in an X post as "a pillar of the Bedford-Stuyvesant community for nearly fifty years" and described the meeting with him as a "beautiful Shabbat." Next to them in the photo was also Councilman Yosef Salam from Manhattan, one of the members of the "Central Park Five."

Even Jews who do not support the State of Israel – and there are no small number of them, in their support for Mamdani, they are supporting not only an anti-Israel candidate, but a quiet terror supporter, a person who wants to bring the intifada to the U.S., and perhaps mainly, a person who supported the greatest massacre the Jewish people has known since the Holocaust.
