Family members gathered to lay seven year old Hallel Mordechai Dadon to rest following a fatal stabbing incident in a private yard in Beit Shemesh, which also left his four year old cousin critically injured. The suspected attacker, described as a mentally unstable neighbor, entered the private property and attacked both young children while they were unattended.

During the funeral service, Hallel's uncle Shlomi, who is also the father of four year old victim Rei, expressed profound grief over his inability to prevent the tragedy. "I was with you in those last minutes, I wish I could have done more. I just hope you felt I was there," Shlomi said during his eulogy.

Shlomi described Hallel as a child of light, praying that the family finds strength through faith during the period of mourning. Relatives recounted that during the immediate aftermath, Shlomi desperately attempted to stop Hallel's bleeding without initially realizing that his own son, Rei, had sustained severe neck wounds.

Hallel's father, Amos Dadon, shared that police have issued a gag order regarding details of the ongoing investigation, leaving the family with limited information. "The killer caught them alone, two children aged seven and four. Nobody understands what happened there. I did not know this neighbor, I had never seen him before," Amos stated.

The victim's mother, Tamar, spoke about the devastating moment she learned of the attack, noting she initially suspected a security related motive. She described Hallel as a joyful, bright, and smart child with a pure heart who had a promising future ahead of him.

Tamar explained the immense difficulty of managing the household and supporting her five other surviving children through the trauma. "I walked with him, I accompanied him, and I understood that something was taken from us. I have five other children here. I must not fall, I must hold them, feed them, explain to them, and mediate," Tamar shared.

She recounted how Hallel had asked earlier that morning to visit his uncle's home for vacation activities, unaware of the tragedy that would unfold later that afternoon. She also noted the emotional toll on her eleven year old son Yosef, who witnessed the aftermath and struggled to process the event during the night.

Law enforcement authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack under the active judicial gag order.
